How to enter Windows 10 Safe Mode

Safe Mode is like your bomb shelter when Windows explodes. Maybe you got the Blue Screen of Death, or some malware’s screwed up everything.

So now you’re thinking, just press the F8 like we always have, right? Wrong! Windows 10 makes you jump through a lot more hoops. So hold on, I’m going to walk you through it.

Click or tap the Start button, then the Power button. Hold down the Shift key, then hit Restart.

You’ll get a full-screen menu where you’ll want to select Troubleshoot, Advanced Options, Startup Settings.

Tap the Restart button—yes, I know we’ve already done this once! The PC will reboot and bring you—again—to the Startup Settings screen.

Use the number keys to select safe mode.

It is definitely more complicated to get to Safe Mode in Windows 10, and I’m sorry—I didn’t write this operating system! For more Windows tips, go to PCWorld.com.

Windows10 keeps surprising me. Those who created it wanted to poison our (ordinary users) life lol Everything is so different and complicated, to solve a simple question i have to do a lot of things and instead of pressing one button there`s a whole algorithm at our disposal. I`m not a programmer, i want it to be as easy as possible. Anyway, thanks for this tip, every little helps.

Ohh great! Now everything is pretty clear. I was pressing F8 but nothing happened… I`m glad I found your article before getting a heart attack. 🙂 People like me always need some kind of a guideline to follow. I will print it out in case i need this stuff again because i cannot keep so much info in my poor head. At least i`m happy i don`t have to ask someone else for the help.

Yeahhh! Win10 knows how to drive me mad. It causes problems all the time and i`m thinking to get the older version back. For the last three months it has crashed twice and more to come, i`m sure of it. I wonder if the person who wrote this operating system has ever used it himself? They want us all to use it but i think it`s been too raw yet. This OS isn`t ready for mainstream use.
